Just your average beach trip

My Aunt Marcia knows a wonderful man who owns a house in Cape San Blas, Florida, and that is where we vacationed for Fall Break. The house is fabulous and slept all 15 of us pretty comfortably. We played on the beach a lot.

I had never seen a ledge like this at the beach before. It was there everyday except the last day.

Lydia enjoyed being covered in sand...I find this disturbing...

Lydia and Charlie became fast friends.

Laying in the sun is a must.

The boys fished A LOT and caught A LOT!

Flying kites is also very fun at the beach.

We played numerous games of Cornhole.

Whitney and I finally won one!

We finally got in the ocean on the last day!

Did I mention that Lydia loved the outdoor shower and we couldn't get her out of it?!?

Sweet baby of mine.
The ride home was peaceful dreams.

More picture from Beverly's camera:

The batman kite that flew like a champ.
The Penland girls still love to play throw and catch.

My favorite thing to do at the beach is read a book for pleasure. :)

Bev and her girls love the beach.

Food, Rain, and Fun at the Beach

As always, the food was spectacular. Just to make you good and jealous here was our meals: eggs, biscuits and gravy, bacon, tenderloin, pancakes, and sausage for breakfasts; grilled sandwiches and leftovers for lunches; hot dogs with chips and dip, bbq chicken with baked beans and potato salad, shrimp with grilled veggies, spaghetti with garlic bread and salad, tacos with all the fixings, and hamburgers with baked beans for suppers; brownies, cookies, and peach cobbler for desserts.

Lydia discovered her love of spicy doritos...

and has the orange fingers to prove it!

Lydia ate two entire boxes of animal crackers in a day and a half.
Monday was a very rainy, gloomy day so we traveled to Apalachicola to look at the old houses and such. We got wet walking around in the rain, but it got us out of the house.

I read this book during the week off. I do recommend it, but it is different than any book I have ever read. I want to see the movie now.

Scott brought his X-Box 360 with Kinect. We had a blast playing some dancing game.

Chloe was sleeping comfortably on the back of the couch.

"Tickle, Tickle, Murphy!"

Snuggled up watching a movie.

Playing Dominos
Charlie loves her top hat.
