Family Date Night (minus the husbands)

Holly and I decided to take the kids to Chic-fil-a on Tuesday in leau of family date night this week. The hubbies were detained elsewhere, so we crammed all 3 car seats into my backseat and drove the 30 minutes to Clayton. We had three very chatty very happy kiddos! (I love the fact that all Chic-fil-a's have an indoor playground!)

Riding bikes is fun!

Special thanks to Holly and David for letting us borrow the bike seat and helmet for Lydia!
Now if I could just figure out how to rotate pictures from my phone...

We love the County Fair

Every year the county fair is open for five short days. We make the best of it by going as often as possible. My parents took Lydia Friday morning (I was there with my first grade class), we went again that evening, AND the next day before dinner. Did I mention Lydia loves animals? She wanted to pet everything in sight. She was so excited, she didn't want to hold our hands, so the overalls came in very handy. :)

Big Pumpkins

Hope wasn't so keen on the animal touching.

But she got her hand a few.

Balancing act

How much does Lydia weigh?

Too cute for words.

Ruff Night

Last night was our Wednesday dinner at the Parlier's. I had gone to Wal-mart earlier in the week and spotted these pajamas that were on sale. I couldn't pass up the cuteness. Wyatt, Lydia, and Jack are super adorable, especially when dressed identically.

There's always room for ice cream!

Haircuts are fun

Lydia's hair has always been pretty manageable. I love the natural highlights she has and the way she pushes it out of her face. The back has had a slight curl to it since she was a little over a year old. Once when Joey was getting his hair cut, we allowed the stylist to barely trim off the ends because I was afraid if we cut the curl off there would be no more curl. (It happened to me...) Fast forward over a year later---> her hair is still beautiful, but the back was longer than the sides and was starting to look a little unkempt. I knew it was time (sigh). While filling the car up with gas, I asked her if she wanted to get her hair cut. She was very excited and kept saying "Get my hair cut" over and over and over.
Happy Girl!
She really is still happy in the cool booster seat.
The cape was a big hit since she LOVES animals!

I was also apprehensive about her behavior, but she was a complete angel! She sat so still and followed directions. She got a lollipop at the end for her good behavior.

Before and After
My baby is growing up.

OH, did I mention that every time we get out of the car near a building that looks similar to the beauty salon she wants to get her hair cut? :)

Ashley's Wedding

Joey's youngest sister decided to get married. It took place yesterday at my father-in-law's church in Jacksonville. We were excited to be there.
Joey forgot his dress shoes and belt...

Rachel entertained herself during church by tying strings on Matt's fingers.

I kept Lydia quiet by singing in her ear,

and whisper-reading books.

Joey's mom had her hands full.

Jacksonville in September

We headed to Jacksonville Friday with Joey's sister and niece in tow. Honestly, I was dreading the trip, but I was pleasantly surprised at how well the girls handled the 8+ hour trip. Joey's immediate family was all present and accounted for except for Greg. I love the beach, so we made it a point of visiting it while we were there for the weekend. A good time was had!
Julian likes the sand.

Rachel likes the water.

Lydia likes to run.

Raisins and sand don't mix well.

I had a picture of the 3 kiddos taking a bath together, but it was inappropriate...

Our friends Paul and Venessa had just their second baby this past week and we hadn't seen them since before any of us had kids, so we took them dinner and visited. AKA: I held the baby while Joey visited and Lydia and Sebastian played.

Lydia took a power nap on the ride over.

Lydia was slightly interested in Penelope.

Sebastian had way cool goggles.

Lydia was most interested in her fuzzy hair.

Such a cute kid!

Then we headed to Ashley's soon-to-be mother-in-law's house for the rehearsal dinner. She made yellow chicken curry. I am not one to try new things and I was very skeptical about this meal, but, I have to admit, it was super yummy good and Lydia even ate which is a miracle! Kudos to Mary Ellen! And the dessert was chocolate raspberry cheesecake!!! I was in heaven. Oh, and the company wasn't bad either.
The siblings (minus Greg, add me)

She played in the dirt and was filthy...

Makes my heart melt when they play together....just wished they lived closer together...

Duncan was the largest, mellow dog that was extremely tolerate of the kids.
