Winston-Salem Weekend

My friend is getting married September 1st, so off to the bachelorette party I went! Since she lives close to Winston-Salem and my brother has an apartment there that he sleeps in during the week and is vacant on weekends, we crashed in his oh so humble abode. Thanks Steve!
Lydia loved his Frosted Flakes!

Since I was doing girly stuff all day, Joey took Lydia to the Children's Museum. It looks like a lot of fun!
Climbing the beanstalk. Joey said she did this forever!

It was actually Krispy Kreme's 75th Birthday that weekend, so Lydia "made" donuts.

Meanwhile, I was having a spa day with the rest of the bridal party. I enjoyed my first facial at Van Davis Aveda. Other treats were manicures, pedicures, and massages.

Then it was off to dinner at Midtown Cafe & Dessertery.

The chocolate chip cheesecake was heavenly!
Then it was present time! Let's just say a good laugh was had by all!

We rounded off the night with a visit to the Comedy Zone in Greensboro. Again, lots more laughing!

We all had a great time and I can't wait to watch my friend get married in 7 short weeks!

3 More Months

My due date is in 3 months! It's kinda hard to believe. I love feeling the baby move. He/she is a very active little thing. According to babycenter, he/she is about 2 pounds and 14 1/2 inches longs. My next prenatal appointment is Tuesday to perform the awful glucose screening. This test requires me to drink a nasty, flat soda type drink (high in sugar) and then test my blood sugar level. I failed this last time I was pregnant and had to take the more horrible 3-hour which I also failed. Therefore, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and had to test my blood sugar 4 times a day! Needless to say, this was not fun. Hopefully I will pass this time.

Things I will not miss in 3 months:
  • crazy heartburn
  • having to pee every hour
  • being HUGE
  • having to roll out of bed (already!)
  • big-eyed looks when I say my due date isn't until October
Things I am looking forward to in 3 months:
  • holding this precious bundle
  • finally knowing if he/she is a boy or a girl
  • watching Lydia become a big sister
  • watching my family grow
  • unconditional love for another person
I didn't do the weekly cute belly photos for either pregnancy, but here is a few snap shots to compare:
7 Months with Lydia
Over 8 months with Lydia.

5.5 months with baby #2
Almost 6 months with baby #2
The big question is what will this baby's name be? Well, we've chosen: (I can't rotate video...)
Tyler or Madelyn!

5 years together!

We visited Lake Lure for the 3rd time. We love it each time we go. After taking an extra hour and a half to get there (I blame the GPS), we settled in and went to eat. I got a wonderful calzone at one of the restaurants in the resort. I could only eat 1/4, but Joey finished it off later that night. :) Since we're both use to getting up relatively early, 8 was as late as we slept. Joey wanted to go mountain bike riding, but couldn't find a trail that was close enough. So we got ready and rode around stopping for lunch on the lake. Then we headed back and took a nap! Oh how sweet! Our weekend package included a lake tour, so we ate dinner beforehand at one of the nicer restaurants and these are the only pictures I took all weekend.
Compliments of the chef.
Our view from our table.
Free appetizer.
Fancy salt and pepper shakers.
Fancy butter.
My entree: maple glazed salmon!
Joey's: some sort of chicken and pasta.
Since we had to eat early enough to get to our cruise, we were the only people in the restaurant.
Yes, I'm only 25 weeks pregnant and I am HUGE.
We learned a lot about the history of lake lure and got to see some amazing houses!

We saw the stairs that Baby carried a watermelon up in the movie Dirty Dancing, but I failed to get a picture...

Oh, and we ate ice cream!
Beautiful sunset.
Another couple had gotten married at the resort on our day!
Special thanks to my parents for letting Lydia stay with them for the entire weekend. This was the longest I had ever been away from her and I was excited to receive this picture and know she was having a blast with Grammy and Papa!
I don't think she missed us at all...
